Cathay Pacific has unveiled its latest flight schedules to and from Japan for the period 16 April to 31 May 2011.
Tokyo
• CX524 HK-Narita (daily) will stay cancelled until 31 May except 28/29 April and 5/8 May
• CX501 Narita-HK (daily) will be cancelled except 28/29 April and 5 May and will resume from 7 May
• CX509 Narita-HK (daily) will be cancelled from 9 May to 31 May
With the new schedule, Cathay Pacific will operate six daily flights from Hong Kong to Tokyo between mid-April and the end of May.
Osaka
• CX566 HK-Osaka (daily) will be cancelled from 16 April to 31 May (except 28/29 April and 3-8 May)
• CX567 Osaka-HK (daily) will stay cancelled from 16 April to 31 May (except 28/29 April and 3-8 May)
This means the airline will operate three daily flights to and from Osaka in May.
Nagoya
• CX536 HK-Nagoya (three flights weekly) will stay cancelled until 31 May (except 28 April)
• CX535 Nagoya-HK (three flights weekly) will stay cancelled until 31 May (except 28 April)
With the latest adjustment, Cathay will continue to operate two daily flights to and from Nagoya in May.
Sapporo
• CX580 HK-Sapporo (four flights weekly) – Wed/Sat flights will be cancelled from 1 May to 31 May (except 4 May)
• CX581 Sapporo-HK (four flights weekly) – Wed/Sat flights will be cancelled from 1 May to 31 May (except 4 May)
Cathay Pacific will continue to operate its daily flights via Taipei to and from Fukuoka. Customers are advised to check the airline’s website for the latest flight schedule to and from Japan.
Meanwhile, the airline has said that its flight crews will resume staying overnight in Tokyo (except for CX520 which will be a turnaround flight) following confirmation from six United Nations agencies that there are no health or safety hazards associated with transportation. Almost all the major carriers have now returned to crew layovers in Tokyo.
“To prepare for the resumption of layovers, our operations departments have ensured that crew hotels in Tokyo are well prepared and that such things as water and food supplies are safe and plentiful for crew,” said a Cathay Pacific spokesperson. “As always, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew, and we continue to monitor the situation in Japan closely and take advice from the relevant authorities.”
